I-96

Shot taken just before landing at DTW (Detroit Metro Airport)... You can see the north-west side of Detroit Metropolitan area, and as the title says, that large freeway is I-96, that starts from the Ambassador Bridge (bridge that connects Detroit to Windsor (Ontario) and ends-up on Michigan's western coast, if I'm not mistaken, in Muskegon, crossing another two large cities, Lansing (Michigan's Capital) and Grand Rapids.

Today's joke:

An efficiency expert concluded his lecture with a note of caution:
"You don't want to try these techniques at home."
"Why not?" asked somebody from the audience.
"I watched my wife's routine at breakfast for years," the expert explained. "She made lots of trips between the refrigerator, stove, table and cabinets, often carrying a single item at a time. One day I told her, 'Hon, why don't you try carrying several things at once?'"
"Did it save time?" the person in the audience asked.
"Actually, yes," replied the expert. "Previously, it would take her 20 minutes to make breakfast. Now I do it in seven."

Detroit

I took this shot from Windsor (Ontario), the only place where you can get a real good view over Detroit downtown.

Today's joke:

There were two golfers on the golf course. One of the men pulled out a cigarette, and asked his friend for a light. His friend pulls out a 12 inch Bic lighter.
- "Woah, where did you get such a large Bic?"
- "Oh, my genie got it for me."
- "Your genie? You have a genie? Where is he?"
- "He is in my golf bag."
- "Can I see him?"
So the friend looks in the bag and out comes the genie. The man says to the genie; "I am your master's best friend. Would you grant me just one wish?"
The genie says "yes, just one wish". So the man wishes for a million bucks. The genie goes back in the golf bag without saying a word. Pretty soon, the sky starts to get dark. Then it gets even darker. The man looks up and sees a million ducks. He gets real upset, and says:
- Wwhat is the matter with your genie? Is he hard of hearing? I said a million Bucks, not a million Ducks."
- "Do you really think I asked for a 12 inch Bic?"

Old Times

They didn't clear Woodward Ave. to be available only for oldies, so there was all the time a mixture between oldies and brand new cars, making almost impossible to take a shot fulfilled with old cars only. And here it's one of those rare shots. Postworked for an older look!

Today's joke:

A couple was dressed and ready to go out into the city for the evening. They turned on a night light, turned the answering machine on the phone line, covered their pet parakeet and put the cat in the backyard. They phoned the local cab company and requested a taxi. The taxi arrived and the couple opened the front door to leave their house. The cat they had put out into the yard scoots back into the house.
They don't want the cat shut in the house because she always tries to eat the bird. The wife goes out to the taxi while the husband goes inside to get the cat. The cat runs upstairs, the man in hot pursuit.
Waiting in the cab, the wife doesn't want the driver to know the house will be empty for the night. She explains to the taxi driver that her husband will be out soon:
- He's just going upstairs to say good-bye to my Mother!
A few minutes later, the husband gets into the cab.
- Sorry I took so long, he says, as they drive away. Stupid bitch was hiding under the bed. Had to poke her with a coat hanger to get her to come out! She tried to take off so I grabbed her by the neck. Then I had to wrap her in a blanket to keep her from scratching me but it worked. I hauled her fat ass downstairs and threw her out into the back yard!

Red Wings Fan

This guy has to be a real fan of the "Wings"... I took the shot last year at Woodward Dream Cruise, then cropped the limo, added a background which is another shot of the same vehicle, then I've created the floor and the vehicle shadow in my photoshop.

Today's joke:

When he found out he was going to inherit a fortune when his sickly father died, Charles decided he needed a woman to enjoy it with. So one evening he went to a singles bar where he spotted the most beautiful woman he had ever seen. Her natural beauty took his breath away.
- I May look like just an ordinary man, he said as he walked up to her, but in just a week or two, my father will die, and I'll inherit 20 million dollars!
The woman went home with Charles that evening, and three days later, she became his stepmother!

The Secret City

This upload is a mixture between two shots that I took from the plane, different flights, one over Atlantic, and one just before landing at Detroit Metro. Yes, that's downtown Detroit seen from the plane. The rest of it was done in PIP10...

Got a joke too:

Hung Chow calls into work and says:
- Hey, I no come work today, I really sick. Got headache, stomach ache and legs hurt, I no come work.
The boss says:
- You know something, Hung Chow, I really need you today. When I feel like this, I go to my wife and make love to her. That makes everything better and I go to work. You should try that!
Two hours later Hung Chow calls again:
- I do what you say and I feel great. I be at work soon........ You got nice house, boss!

Sadness

This one is the last picture from the Detroit Zoo mini-series I intended to post. Of course I got more, but it's time for a change... hmm, where did I hear that "change" word before... hehe...

And yes, here's another joke, somehow related to the one posted earlier...

Benny goes to his father and tells him:
- Dad, I love Juan!
His father, stunned when he hears that, says:
- But son, that's not right...
- Dad, I love Juan and I wanna marry him! insists Benny.
- But son, that's totally wrong...
- What makes you believe that? asks Benny
- Juan is mexican!

I Won't Talk to You!

For this post I picked a maccaw (hope I'm not wrong about his race!) who was kinda mean to me, every time when I was trying to point my camera toward him, he was turning his back on me! But I had more patience than him and here he is!

...and of course here's another joke:

The mother of a 17-year-old girl was concerned that her daughter was having sex. Worried the girl might become pregnant and damage the status of the family, she consulted the family doctor.
The doctor told her that teenagers today were very willful and any attempt to stop the girl would probably result in rebellion. He then told her to arrange for her daughter to be put on birth control and until then, talk to her and give her a box of condoms.
Later that evening, as her daughter was preparing for a date, the woman told her about the situation and handed her a box of condoms
The girl burst out laughing and reached over to hug her mother saying:
- Oh mom! You don't have to worry! I'm dating Susan!

The Bambi Band

Hello everyone!
Many thanks for your comments on my lazy lioness (not a tigress, as some of you thought)!
I got here a bunch of bambies (that's the way the professional drivers are calling a deer!)

Of course, I got a new joke!

Jerry has never gone hunting while Joe has hunted all his life. When they get to the northern Wisconsin woods, Joe tells Jerry to sit by a tree and not make a sound while Joe checks out a deer stand.
After he gets about a quarter of a mile away, Joe hears a blood-curdling scream. He rushes back to Jerry and yells:
- I thought I told you to be quiet!
Jerry says:
- Hey, I tried. I really did. When those snakes crawled over me, I didn't make a sound. When that bear was breathing down my neck, I didn't make a peep. But when those two chipmunks crawled up my pants leg and said "Should we take them with us or eat them here?" I couldn't keep quiet any more!

Where's the Room Service?

Here's another shot from Detroit Zoo... she was kinda a far from visitors, and didn't have any intention to come any closer...

And now a short farm story:

A little boy comes down to breakfast. Since they live on a farm, his mother asks if he had done his chores.
- Not yet, said the little boy.
His mother tells him he can't have any breakfast until he does his chores. Well, he's a little pissed, so he goes to feed the chickens, and he kicks a chicken. He goes to feed the cows, and he kicks a cow. He goes to feed the pigs, and he kicks a pig.
He goes back in for breakfast and his mother gives him a bowl of dry cereal.
- How come I don't get any eggs and bacon? Why don't I have any milk in my cereal? he asks.
- Well, his mother says, I saw you kick a chicken, so you don't get any eggs for a week. I saw you kick the pig, so you don't get any bacon, for a week either. I also saw you kick the cow, so, for a week you aren't getting any milk!
Just then, his father comes down for breakfast and kicks the cat as he's walking into the kitchen. The little boy looks up at his mother with a smile, and says:
- Are you going to tell him, or should I?

Next in line, please!

I got here this huge bear, who seems to seat at the front desk, waiting for customers!

I'll Hold It For You!

From here I'll start to post a mini-series of pictures taken at the Detroit Zoo. Hope you gonna like 'em as well!

And now another joke about marriage...

An old man goes to the Wizard to ask him if he can remove a curse he has been living with for the last 40 years.
The Wizard says:
- Maybe, but you will have to tell me the exact words that were used to put the curse on you!
The old man says without hesitation:
- I now pronounce you man and wife!

And related to marriages, but a different kind of marriage:

The reason politicians try so hard to get re-elected is that they would hate to have to make a living under the laws they've passed...

Blue Ride

This is another shot from the now traditional Woodward Dream Cruise, and postworked in my PIP10. Hope you'll like it!

Have you ever realized what actually "service" means? If not, look what this guy found out!

I became confused when I heard these terms with reference to the word "service".
Internal Revenue "Service"
U.S. Postal "Service"
Telephone "Service"
TV Cable "Service"
Civil "Service"
State, City, County & Public "Service"
Customer "Service"
This is not what I thought 'service' meant. But today, I overheard two farmers talking, and one of them said he had hired a bull to "service" a few cows.
BAM!!! It all came into focus. Now I understand what all those "service" agencies are doing to us. Now you are as enlightened as I am.
