Go USA!

As most of you knows, tomorrow starts another edition of the World Cup. After 64 years, the host is once again Brazil, the country that won the title 5 times (1958; 1962; 1970; 1994 and 2002), but they never won on their own country (1950 - winner Uruguay). I am aware that U.S.A. doesn't have too many chances to win the trophy, but as they say, the ball is round, so you never know... and as everybody else that hopes his country will win, I say "Go U.S.A.!"

And a joke accordingly to this event:

Cassius Clay dies and goes to the heaven's gate. St. Peter holds him there and starts to read the register reviewing Clay's activity. After a long period of time, while he was nodding his head, finally he says:
"I'm sorry, but I cannot let you in!"
"May I know why" asks Clay.
"Well, it looks like you've been beating too many people down there on Earth" answers the Saint.
While looking around, Clays sees a bunch of people dressed in orange, inside the heaven, and asks St. Peter:
"But they, why are they here? They are sportsmen also!"
"Indeed, but that's the team of Houston Dynamo, they've never beaten anyone!"

  1. Usa have the same possibility to win than all the other!!!!!!!
I prefer the winner will be Italy! But the most important is that the sport win !!

    Italy winner in 4 times ( 1934, 1935, 1982, 2006 )
Other 2 times second both looser agains Brasil in one case it war perfect right in the second only the not luck of penality but Italy was better.

After having told that : Art is more important for unite peoples Soccer sometimes divide... I am more interested in art.

    Good luck !

    1. Thank you! They got a good coach, they play much better than four years ago, so let's hope the referees will be impartial, not like they did in South Africa...

    1. Netherlands deserved the title back in '78... they were so unfortunate. Same thing four years ago... and believe it or not, I wanted so much to see them winning the finals...

  7. The God of Football is Brasilian! But he lives in Germany! :-)
Germany was reaching the finals seven times, and won 1954, 1974, and 1990!
... but this year I think the tournament will be short for the German Team! :-(

    1. You never know... and Germany is far from the worst team at the World Cup... as a matter of fact I see them reaching the semifinals :)

    2. Some very good players are injured and can´t play in Brasil. Some just recovered from injuries, now not being in top form.
So maybe not the worst team, but to reach the semifinals they need a lot of fortune. ;-)

  13. I'll be watching the USA game against Ghana tomorrow night with interest as they will not be a walkover. To be honest we were pretty poor against Italy last night although we didn't get hammered like Spain did. Well done Holland.

    1. Well, Italy is not Netherlands, as well as England is not Spain. England played pretty good, but the Italians were unbeatable last night...
